Magic Acorns will develop new artistic work with the youngest audiences as well as support the early childhood arts community.

Following the success of several scratch projects in 2017, we are excited to be offering scratch projects as a flexible, imaginative and collabourative project. We are happy to work with organisations who wish to develop a high quality artistic offer for very young children. Get in touch for more info 

Adventures at Snape!

2nd & 3rd August 2017

Magic Adventure is delighted to be heading to the amazing Snape Maltings in Suffolk! We will be hosting performances with local children, families and settings. We can't wait!

Magic Adventure - Coming Home to Great Yarmouth !!

28th June - 1st July 2016

Magic Adventure is coming home to Great Yarmouth for a residency in the beautiful St Georges Theatre. We will be running a number of shows for our children's centre families and also and Aycorn East event on Tuesday the 28th of June at 4 o'clock. Aycorn East is the Arts and Young Children Regional Network for the East - so if you are an artist working in any art form with young children - then come - it's a chance to see the stunning Magic Adventure Installation and meet other artists and get inspiration! 

We will also be running a professional development session on Thursday 30th June at 4pm ( more details soon) and a limited amount of places for practitioners are available during performances. 

Magic Adventure is bound for the Emerald Isle

11th - 13 March 2016

We are very excited to be sailing the Irish sea with a big van to Carlow Town!

Paula Phelan the fabulous programme director of Music Generation Carlow and champion of Early Years has commissioned Magic Adventure and we are thrilled to be taking part.

Music Generation is  a Music Network Initiative, co-funded by U2, The Ireland Funds, The Department of Education and Skills and Local Music Education Parternships.

Nearly time for Peterborough Magicking

Magic Week is nearly upon us and we look forward to meeting the young chidren,babies and families of  Orton Goldhay, Peterborough. Many thanks to St Johns Church Pre-school, Jigsaw Children's Centre, Braybrook Nursery and Winyates Pre-school for all their hard work getting the word out . See you very soon.

Magic Adventure is coming to Peterborough

We are delighted to be working with St John’s Church School in Peterborough who will be hosting Magic Adventure over half term. This amazing space has only just been built and we are very excited about celebrating it together with families from the local community.

It has been over a year since the big Magic Adventure Installation went up - Team Magic together again - can't wait!!

Magic Light is now available to come to you!!

Now Magic Light is available to come to you!

All you need to host a day of Magic Light performances is:

·         

A 9m x 9m room with blackout (curtains or blinds etc)

·         

A ceiling height of 3m

·         

Access to standard electrical sockets

NB. Magic Light is fully accessible and its relaxed, playful environment is ideal for babies and young children including children with disability.

Tides - Opus 1 of the Magic Light Project

December 1st 2014

The Magic Light project has finished its 2nd devising stage and we are proud to announce 'Tides' our first piece. Set inside a lumionous tunnel, the environment transforms, flowing from one beautiful atmousphere to another. Interactive, responsive and hypnotic, adults and infants are emersed in a world of light, harmony and playfulness. - Just look at the expressions on the ADULTS faces!!

Magic Adventure wins an Arts AWARD

1st December 2014

Charlotte Arculus and Magic Adventure won the Norfolk Awards for Theatre Education. Up against Norfolk's finest and best, Charlotte was bowled over by winning this award. She even got a little tearful. This is an aknowledgement that young children and babies are discerning audiences who greatly challange and inspire the artists who work with them.

New Music by Rachel Drury

1st -4th of April 2014

Its getting very close! The installation is going up this weekend ready for the 1st April. Its a big wonderful monster of light, laughter and music. We will be premiering NEW VOICE MUSIC written especially for us by the fabulous RACHEL DRURY , composer of Scottish Opera's BABY O. We have a song that goes Weeee!, one that goes WAHAY! and several more corkers by Dr Drury. Rachel has a Doctorate in Music Psychology, her theses examined music and communication in young children. So you ca see why we get on so well.

Magic Adventure Essex Dates

Jan 22nd 2014

Magic Adventure is coming to the Meadows children centre in Harlow as part of an Arts council funded regional tour. The Magic team will be delivering immersive performances for babies, toddlers and their families and settings. We will also be delivering inspirational creative education sessions for artists and those who work with young children. All events will take place inside the Magic Adventure installation - structures of white fabric and coloured light.

 

Dates are from Tuesday 1st April - Friday 5th April. Contact us or check back here for details as they are confirmed.

New Music for Magic Adventure

New Music for Magic Adventure is being created by Rache Drury, the composer of Baby O, the opera for babies and Sensory O, the opera for Toddlers. We are very excited about this collaboration. Rachel has recently finished her doctoral thesis in early years music psychology and we are thrilled to be working with her. Rachel is writting voice music for the cast and also recorded music for children to play along with on tuned and untuned percussion. We will be premiering the compositionsat the Harlow residency in April.
